- Instructional Decisions/Teaching (InTask Standard # 9): Discuss the implementation process and describe
- What went well and what didn't go well during the implementation of your lesson?
What didn’t go too well was I underestimated how fast the students would complete their timeline. I thought it would take them longer to do it, so I ended up having them complete a 6th event just to make more time. What went well was the students seemed to enjoy making the timeline and thinking of events to put on it. While some struggled with ideas, once they had it they could talk a lot about it. - How well was the alignment to objectives and standards maintained?
The objectives were all completed for this activity, and they directly paralleled the standards. The students in this activity covered all of the standards I had listed through the different activities they completed. They also covered all of the objectives I had set out for them to complete. - Describe any modifications made during the implementation of the lesson
Originally I was only going to have the students make 5 events on their timeline, but they did them so quickly I asked them to make 6 (the kidspiration setup had a 6 event timeline pre made). I also switched to have the students just share one event from their timeline instead of the entire timeline, but that modification was written into my lesson plan. - Mechanics:
- What technologies did I use (for the teacher and the learner)?
Kidspiration was used to make the timeline for the students since it was already all set out. They then used a word document to write in detail about their events. - How were the technologies used (by whom and in what manner)?
As the teacher I used the same technology as the students since I demonstrated what they would be doing. I had a timeline half made on kidspiration so I could show them how to make their own, which they then did. After they pulled up a word document to write about the different events in more detail. - My lesson was within the correct time frame
My lesson was within the correct time frame. When I realized that it was moving a little too fast, I had the students complete an extra event on their timeline. I also showed them down from completing it by asking them questions about events they already created. When I realized that I had slowed down a little too much, I altered the end part to share only one event from the timeline.
- Include at least 2 digital artifacts that demonstrate what you or your students (peers) have created as a result of your lesson
“November 14, 2007 I was born and that’s when I came alive and I put a picture of a bay cause I was a bay. 2010 I fell down and broke my arm on a scooter and it was scary and I put a picture of a hurt arm. July 4, 2012 my dad made pretty fireworks in the sky and all of my family came and I put a picture of fireworks because they are fireworks. July 4, 2012 there was a fire on my house and the firemen came and made it go away and there’s a picture of a fire just like the one on my house. 2013 I got Gus Gus who is my cat and he is fluffy and loves me and I put a picture of a cat cause Gus Gus is a cat. June 2014 my grandma moved out of her house because she has to cause sh’e old and my mom said so and I put a picture of a house since she left it.”

- Describe your students' level of success in achieving the standards and objectives for your lesson based on your assessment
I believe my students by the end of the lesson understood both the importance of a timeline as well as how they are used. All of the students were able to place their events in order on the timeline, as well as in their writing. They used all of the standards in this lesson, and met the objectives. - Describe the level of success you had in teaching the lesson
- How do your individual reflections support this?
I believe that I supported students needs by doing an I-we-you structure. I showed them the timeline and talked about the different components. From there we filled in my timeline together to show them how to do it and what was expected for that parts. After that they went and made their own timelines. I feel everything was explained well and from that they met all of the objectives . - How do the comments from your classmates support this?
They all thought I was very prepared and did a good job of supporting the class as a whole as well as individual needs. The only real problem was that I should have had more activities planned if I ran out of time. Which means they were able to tell when I realized they were going to fast and tried to slow them down.
